Update: A recording of the webinar on the report is now available. With more than 30 million off-grid solar products sold and over $5 billion saved by consumers in energy-related spending since 2010, the sector is continuing to make a huge impact globally. And despite hitting some rough waters, the sector is weathering the storm; companies are innovating, diversifying and opening up in new markets.
The Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) now represents over 100 off-grid energy companies, investors and stakeholders. This month, the Paris-based off-grid solar company Qotto officially became GOGLA’s 100th member. Based in Utrecht, The Netherlands, GOGLA is the industry association of the off-grid lighting and electrification sector. On behalf of GOGLA, Grégory Durand of TOTAL Access To Energy, congratulated Qotto in Paris this week.
As part of our recent Annual Member Conference in Paris, GOGLA organized a symposium providing the audience with a snapshot of the latest research on off-grid energy markets and consumers. Divided into two in-depth sessions on business and consumer perspectives, the symposium was complemented by lively panel debates on trends and challenges of the off-grid energy access market.
