Knowledge is power, and with the off-grid energy sector evolving so fast, and with so many players operating globally, GOGLA has identified a growing need for a practical tool allowing its members to tap into that knowledge. And so, supported by RECP (the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme), GOGLA has been working on an easy-to-use support tool for its members and the broader sector to access a wealth of insights, knowledge and opportunities. The database – called the GOGLA Bridge - is designed to allow users to:
source support services for incubating and accelerating company growth
access information about potential grants, awards and competitions
increase access to investors and relevant financing institutions
The database, conceived in response to demand from industry members and development partners, will be officially launched during the Global Off-Grid Solar Forum and Expo in Hong Kong next week. It is a shared hope of RECP and GOGLA’s that the Bridge will provide an excellent support to many individuals and business across the sector.
“The database will provide entrepreneurs with a useful one-stop shop for information on support programs” says Alexander Huppertz, Project Manager for RECP. He adds, “In addition, the GOGLA Bridge complements RECP’s own funding instrument database, providing companies with easy access to information both on sources of funding and technical support. RECP is proud to have partnered with GOGLA on this important service.”
Any individuals, businesses or institutions interested in listing programs on the site, should contact GOGLA’s Data Analyst, Silvia Francioso on email@example.com. The Bridge has already had a soft launch, with an initial 50 service providers currently listed. Many more opportunities and services will be added in the coming weeks and months, and going forward, the Bridge will be updated on a monthly basis.
