Sjef joined GOGLA in October 2018 and works on research activities that support building an enabling environment for the off-grid solar sector. He managed GOGLA’s research programme on the socio-economic impact of off-grid solar products and is currently involved in our work around sales and impact, jobs, subsidies, and humanitarian energy.
Prior to joining GOGLA, Sjef worked as a business developer at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education and conducted research in Kenya on a solar-powered mosquito trapping system, looking at questions around health, monetary savings, and willingness-to-pay.
Sjef holds a BSc in Future Planet Studies from the University of Amsterdam and an MSc in Development Economics from Wageningen University & Research. He also participated in the Advanced Master in International Development (AMID) programme at the Radboud University.
