The REC23 & Expo aims to unite various stakeholders, including academia, industry, government, and civil society organizations, to share experiences and best practices for addressing energy sector challenges and promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency adoption in Uganda. The conference, scheduled for November 16th-18th, 2023, at Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort, Kampala, in Uganda, will focus on “A Clean Energy Future for All.”
GOGLA, a leading advocate for the off-grid solar sector, will support the just energy transition and the productive use of renewable energy in four of the conference sessions.
- The GOGLA delegation will participate in a session, symbolizing a collaborative effort to promote progress and innovation in the off-grid energy sector, titled “Official Launch of the NREP/Off-Grid Energy Working Group” on November 16 at 12:00 PM.
- Carlos Sordo, Senior Project Manager for Productive Uses of Renewable Energy at GOGLA, is advancing the agenda and will participate as a panelist in a session titled “Transforming the Lives and Livelihoods of Unserved, Remote, and Rural Communities by Scaling Off-Grid Productive Uses of Renewable Energy (PURE)” on November 16, at 2:00 PM.
- Patrick Tonui, Head of Policy and Regional Strategy at GOGLA, will chair a session discussing recent developments in PUE in the energy sector, focusing on “Accelerating Productive Use of Energy (PUE) for Increased Energy Demand Stimulation and Economic Development” on November 17 at 9:00 AM.
- David Njugi, East Africa Regional Representative at GOGLA, will serve as a session chair during a discussion addressing the needs of all stakeholders in the transition to renewable energy and energy efficiency “East African Community: Unlocking an Inclusive Energy Transition” on November 17 at 4:00 PM.
