ENGIE Rassembleurs d’Energies, is ENGIE’s corporate impact investment fund aiming at promoting access to sustainable energy for all and at reducing energy poverty through direct investment as minority shareholder. It was created in 2011 and has so far achieved 20 investments on 4 continents (Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia) active in 15 countries with a dedicated committed team of 6 people also relying on ENGIE group support.

ENGIE Rassembleurs d’Energies’s ambition is to enable social enterprises providing energy access to poor populations to scale up their business. The businesses we support range from energy efficiency for social housing in Europe, to solar home systems, biomass (waste to recovery briquettes), biodigesters providing biogas and bio fertilizers, clean cook stoves or even renewable micro-grids. At end 2015, the enterprises we’ve invested in have supplied power to close to 1 million people throughout the world. ENGIE Rassembleurs d’Energies has a leading position as Impact Investor in energy access.

We’ve developed a multi criteria tool to assess investments opportunities: Environmental performance, Social Performance, Relevance of the solution, Synergies, economic value. Our ambition is not only to support social enterprises’ development thanks to our financial investment but also to provide them with technical and managerial support.
