SokoFresh is a Kenyan company ideated at Enviu, a venture building studio.
SokoFresh is solving the issue of post-harvest losses in horticultural value chains by setting up aggregation hubs at first mile that leverage on solar-powered cold storage technology. Through a Pay As You Store model smallholder farmers and aggregators can access the cold storage and store produce for 3-5 days. SokoFresh also offers a market linkage service that connects the farmers with buyers of the aggregated produce.
Currently, SokoFresh Operates in the Mango, Avocado, and French Beans value chains in the counties of Murang’a, Embu, and Kajiado with plans to expand to 5 new counties in Q4,2021.
