The 3rd Off-Grid Energy Access Investor Conference, organised by GOGLA, Deutsche Bank and Power Africa, will take place on 18th of March, 2015, in New York.
The conference will be hosted by Fordham Law School (address: Fordham Law School, 150 West 62nd Street, New York NY 10023, USA.)
The event builds on the success of the first and second off-grid energy access investor conferences, held in July and December 2014. This third conference will give companies an opportunity to address their financial needs, as well as offer investors an opportunity to present their requirements to companies.
The off-grid lighting sector continues to be one of the most attractive opportunities for investors in Africa and other emerging markets with:
• US$ 30 billion spent annually by off-grid households on lighting; • The sector is rapidly expanding, achieving growth of 55% in 2014; • Billions of potential customers could benefit from innovative products offered at lower costs than traditional technologies; • This route offers the cheapest, zero-carbon route to universal energy access in developing countries.
The meeting will serve as a platform for selected investors to meet leading companies in the off-grid energy sector and gain first-hand insight into the investment potential of this rapidly growing market. The event will facilitate dialogue between the investment sector and the industry, identifying best practices and pathways to investment and offering a networking opportunity. We aim to attract a much targeted audience, in order to secure efficient discussions and relevant content for our audience. Therefore, attendance is reserved for selected investors, GOGLA members, and partners. Remaining seats after the registration deadline, will be offered on a first-come-first serve basis. A draft version of the conference agenda is now available online. Registration for the event is possible before 11th of March, 2015 or until capacity is reached.
