Poor People need access to energy services, not just supply – Practical Action calls for more financing for decentralized solutions

Practical Action’s “Poor People’s Energy Outlook 2014” is the latest edition in a series aiming to get a better understanding of what “access to energy” for poor people actually means, how to measure it, and most importantly how to increase it. By going beyond basic ‘connected/not connected’ statistics it demonstrates that “access” comes in many degrees and qualities, in which the service that is being delivered by energy is actually more relevant than the supply of energy alone.
