In the course of the Intersolar Europe 2013, the very first GOGLA membership conference took place from June 19-21 in Munich. Representatives of seventeen member companies and our cooperation partners from IFC, Global Lighting Association, UNEP and Fraunhofer ISE joined us. The large number of attendees reflected GOGLA’s diversity and their active participation in the Working Groups, the Annual General Meeting, and the GOGLA booth made the event a major success.
On the first day, the working groups came together and took the opportunity of the face-to-face meeting for thriving discussions. The Working Group on Policy and Regulation discussed issues such as policy clusters and regulatory recommendations whilst the Business and Market Intelligence Group reflected on topics as market intelligence tools and financing solutions. The Quality Assurance and Standards Working Group engaged issues like methods to establish performance targets and quality seals.
On the evening of June 19, GOGLA also hosted its association dinner in a typical Bavarian venue. More than 60 guests took the networking opportunity and moreover enjoyed keynote speeches from the Secretary General of the Global Lighting Association, Jürgen Sturm and Prof. Eicke Weber, Fraunhofer ISE.
On the second day, GOGLA held its Annual General Meeting. Almost thirty participants from around twenty different organizations and companies gathered to discuss the results of the first year of GOGLA activities and next steps to be taken. The newly elected president Harry Verhaar and vice-president Ned Tozun addressed the assembly and outlined their ideas for the future agenda of GOGLA.
Throughout the entire conference, GOGLA also hosted a booth on the Intersolar Exhibition where twelve of its members displayed their latest innovations and high class products. The booth allowed the members to establish business contacts and GOGLA to inform a wider public about its mission and objectives.
We thank all our attendees for participating actively and making the conference a great success and are already looking forward to our next member conference!
