Country Briefs

The GOGLA Country Briefs are a series of briefing notes that provide a high-level overview of the status of different countries’ off-grid solar markets, as well as relevant policies and programs. The Briefs have been developed with the support of the Community of Champion Partners, World Bank Group Lighting Global Program, the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP), the Shell Foundation, USAID, Power Africa, the UK Department for International Development (DFID), Africa Clean Energy (ACE) and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll).

The updated country briefs have been revised and include information on e-waste policies as well as general updates on policy changes and sector support programmes. The briefs have also been updated with the latest GOGLA sales data (H1 2019) and impact data (H2 2018). Finally, two new briefs are published: Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire.

Please note: the information and views expressed in these briefs are GOGLA’s alone and are based on our current understanding of the policy situation in this country. We welcome any updates, revisions or clarifications at info@gogla.org.
