Open call for the Energy Access Talent Initiative

Are you looking to positively impact the future of energy access in Sub-Saharan Africa? Shortlist, a global recruitment firm, is partnering with the UK Government (FCDO) to work with clean energy companies across sub-Saharan Africa to create the next generation of clean energy professionals through the Energy Access Talent Initiative.

What is the Energy Access Talent Initiative?:

  • It’s a multi-year program, from 2023 until 2025, placing 800 youth into clean energy jobs.
  • Enables motivated young professionals (<30 years old) to start or build their careers in the clean energy access sector across Sub-Saharan Africa – this includes off-grid solar, clean cooking solutions, clean energy financing,  and productive use appliances, etc.;
  • Supports clean energy access companies in Sub-Saharan Africa to source, screen, appoint and develop entry to the mid-level staff at significantly subsidised rates, including providing free recruitment services – and, in some cases, financial stipends to support hires through the placement for the first six months;
  • It focuses on connecting clean energy companies with women and other diverse candidates.
  • Candidates placed through the program will undergo a work readiness program provided by our partner African Management Institute.
