Our 2023 Annual Report highlights some of our most significant accomplishments from the past year. We reinforced our collaboration with national governments and renewable energy associations, organized events to bring together the renewable energy sector for financing and collaboration to achieve universal energy access, published flagship industry data on sales, impact, investment, and performance, and launched a working group to address the persistent challenge of access to finance across the industry.
We also welcomed a new strategic partnership with the Ikea Foundation, expanding our role as a sector convener, advocate, and market intelligence hub for the Productive Uses of Renewable Energy (PURE). We produced guidance for governments and development partners to accelerate the impact of PURE, published a paper demonstrating how innovative climate-smart off-grid solar technologies can boost resilience and adaptation in energy-poor communities, and advocated for the sector at two key climate events: the Africa Climate Summit and COP28.
All of our activities contribute to our strategic vision: to improve 1 billion lives by 2030 with off-grid solar energy. This includes supporting the sector to reach 550 million people with first-time energy access, improving energy services for millions more, and enabling farmers and small businesses to improve their livelihoods and resilience through the productive use of off-grid technologies.
