The Global Off-Grid Solar Forum and Expo organized by the IFC-World Bank Lighting Global program and GOGLA, concluded this week with announcements of $75 million in new investments and that the industry now generates an estimated $1bn a year in revenue.
In mid-January, GOGLA members and IFC associate companies were sent individual links to participate in the Global Off-Grid Solar Market Report data collection process for the period July-December 2016, jointly conducted by GOGLA and IFC Lighting Global, with the assistance of Berenschot.
To provide an overview of the upcoming data collection process and outline how companies can efficiently submit sales data, GOGLA and Lighting Global held a webinar on January 16 for interested GOGLA members and IFC associates. During the webinar, GOGLA and Lighting Global provided an overview of the published reports to date and outlined the key features and benefits of the move to a new online reporting environment.
