LAGAZEL produces solar lanterns in Africa in order to bring accessible solutions to 650 million African people who do not have access to grid. LAGAZEL was founded in 2015 by Arnaud and Maxence Chabanne. KALO solar lanterns are affordable and offer high-quality: a metalic and unbreakable hull, more than 20-hours autonomy, 2-year warranty, proximity after-sale service. Products are designed in France and assembled in African workshops closed to final customers. The production is starting in Burkina Faso in partership with CB Energie, a local company founded by Arnaud ten years ago, that has already distributed more than 30,000 solar lanterns. Social and environmental impacts consist in job creations in France and Africa, millions of tones of CO2 emissions saved, and millions of families who access lighting and energy to develop their businesses, schools, health centers, etc. As far as 2020, LAGAZEL expects one million solar lamps sold and around 15 regional workshps in Western and Eastern Africa.
